Terms of Service
The rules for using Dyaspo. Please read them before you sign up.
Last updated: November 6, 2026
Draft for launch. Have a lawyer review this page before you open Dyaspo to the public, and fill in the details in [square brackets].
Who we are and what Dyaspo is
Dyaspo is run by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS] (called we or Dyaspo in these terms). You can write to us at [CONTACT EMAIL].
Dyaspo is a platform where people from diaspora communities post projects with open roles and find others to build them with. We provide the place to meet. We are not an employer, a recruiter, a co-founder or a party to any agreement between members.
Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using Dyaspo you agree to these Terms of Service, to our Community Guidelines and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Dyaspo.
Who can use Dyaspo
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement. You must give your real name and accurate information, and you may have only one account.
Your account
You sign in with LinkedIn, Google or a one-time code we send to your email address. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for everything done through it. Tell us at [CONTACT EMAIL] if you think someone else has used your account.
What you can do on Dyaspo
You can post a project and list the roles you need, apply to open roles, and keep a profile. To protect members from spam, we limit how many projects you can post and how many applications you can send each day, and we may change these limits.
How contact details are shared
When you apply, you choose whether the project owner will see your email address or your LinkedIn address if they accept you. They see it only after they accept you.
If you receive someone's contact details, you may use them only to talk about the project and for nothing else. Do not share them, keep them for other purposes, add them to a mailing list or use them to send unrelated messages.
Your content and our licence
You keep the rights to what you post, such as your profile, project descriptions and application notes. You promise that you have the right to post it and that it does not break the law or anyone else's rights.
You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute your content so that we can run Dyaspo, including showing it to other members and to search engines when you have made it public. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that members have legitimately received (for example contact details shared after an acceptance) and backups that we remove in the normal course.
Dyaspo, its design, its name and its software belong to us or our licensors. These terms do not give you any rights to them.
Rules
You must follow our Community Guidelines. In particular, you must not:
- pretend to be someone else or give false information about yourself or your project;
- harass, threaten, discriminate against or defraud anyone;
- ask people to pay money to join a project, or use Dyaspo to sell products, investments or schemes that are not the project you posted;
- send spam or messages nobody asked for;
- collect information about members by automated means, or try to get around the limits and security of the service;
- post anything illegal, or use Dyaspo for illegal activity.
Agreements between members
Any agreement about work, equity, payment, ownership or confidentiality is only between the members involved. We do not check what members say about themselves or their projects, and we do not guarantee that you will find a partner, that a project will succeed, or that a member will keep their promises.
Dyaspo does not give legal, tax or investment advice, and a listing on Dyaspo is not an offer of securities. If a role includes equity, put the terms in writing (including vesting, ownership of the work and what happens if someone leaves) and get independent legal advice before you commit.
Fees
Dyaspo is free to use today. If we introduce paid features we will tell you first, and you will not be charged for anything without your agreement.
Reports, moderation and ending your account
Anyone can report a project or a person. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the Community Guidelines, or that put other members at risk. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you why.
You can stop using Dyaspo at any time and ask us to delete your account at [CONTACT EMAIL]. What happens to your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
Other services and links
Dyaspo uses LinkedIn and Google for sign-in, and projects may link to websites we do not control. We are not responsible for those services or sites, and their own terms apply.
Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep Dyaspo available, but we cannot promise that it will always work without interruption. We may change, pause or stop features. We provide Dyaspo as it is and as it is available.
Limits on our responsibility
To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from agreements between members, from what members post or do, or from things outside our control. Our total liability to you for anything related to Dyaspo is limited to [LIABILITY LIMIT, for example 100 euros].
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your legal rights as a consumer.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by [GOVERNING LAW]. The courts of [JURISDICTION] can hear disputes, except that if you are a consumer in the European Union you keep the right to use the courts of the country where you live and the mandatory consumer protections of that country.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we make an important change we will tell you by email or on Dyaspo before it applies. If you keep using Dyaspo after the change, you accept the new terms.
